For the last five years, PTC has worked with OVATION on PTC Live Global, PTC’s largest education and networking event for product development and service professionals. As this was the last year of traveling road show, PTC wanted to make a lasting impression before the event finds its permanent home next year in Boston. With this year’s event being held in Nashville, the challenge was to find a unique venue to hold their General Session. The space needed to be close to the Gaylord Opryland but also give attendees a fresh environment “off property”.
PTC was also looking to further energize their visual content by creatively communicating how PTC’s products and services tie into the ever-evolving Internet of Things. All executive presentations needed to have the “wow” factor while also maintaining the flexibility that traditional Power Point presentations offer for last minute changes. This year’s event was challenged with a midnight load in and same day executive rehearsals. So any presentation changes needed to be seamless giving executive presenter’s confidence in their message.
For the first time this year PTC wanted to record some of their key sessions to be able to expand their content strategy long after the event ended.

OVATION assisted in securing the Grand Ole Opry for the “off property” venue. This historic music venue was reimagined for a corporate general session. The stage design this year included 7mil LED screens that were 50 ft wide by 28 ft tall. Projection was used for the outboard screens. For content OVATION utilized their highly versatile Ultrawide Graphics Package. This allowed for PowerPoint slides to be spread across all screens while seamlessly blending full screen video with customized, animated PowerPoint slides.
OVATION worked hand-in-hand with PTC’s Creative team to develop an opening video and to transform their 1920×1080 slides into a 5760×1080 presentation. The general session was kicked off with a heart pumping laser show leading into the opening video. To tie into Nashville’s musical heritage a live band was incorporated into the event to wake up the crowd for the early morning session and during intermissions.
Presenter support and rehearsals were crucial this year given the 12-hour load in compared to 36 hours in previous years. OVATION supported PTC by having off-site rehearsals at the PTC corporate office prior to the event to streamline timing and flow well in advance. This helped to ensure smooth rehearsals onsite given the shorter turn.
OVATION had oversight of 66 breakout rooms along with the Executive Exchange General Session. This also included the recording of 20 tracks where the presentations were synced with video so they could be used at a later date.
